This webinar will cover the history, the pigs, the applications and present some interesting case studies that will highlight the complexity of selecting hte right pig for the right job.

  • Title of presentation: Development of a Pipeline Integrity Management System (PIMS) for Oil & Gas Pipelines
  • Synopsis: Penspen has developed a standardized 17-element Pipeline Integrity Management System (PIMS) Model based on its experience from audits as well as recommendations from codes and standards. The Model is used to audit, benchmark and assess an operator’s PIMS arrangements, to manage the risks to people, the environment and to the business, to acceptable levels, given the anticipated pipeline operating conditions and considering the pipeline’s history and current status.

  • Synopsis: As the oil and gas industry increasing embraces digitalisation, Peter Merrett explains the processes and the pros and cons of the laser scanning and 3D modelling of oil and gas industry assets that provide the ‘backbone’ of any asset management system. The talk includes work on analyses of 3D scan data that adds insight to the integrity of storage tanks. We know that this series of seminars is aimed specifically at the pipeline industry but many pipeline inspection companies also provide integrity investigations of other assets that the pipeline connect.
