IGEM – YPPC 2019 Winner

The Institute of Gas Engineers and Managers (IGEM) in the UK holds an annual Young Persons Paper Competition (YPPC). This is an opportunity for young engineers across the gas industry to present a paper before an audience of fellow professionals and judges. Marks are awarded for technical content and presentation style, with the winner of a regional heat going forward to a national final at IGEM house.

Andrew Wynne (from ROSEN), and part of the YPPE newsletter team, won his regional heat against 4 other competitors and went on to the final on June 18th. He was up against 8 other competitors who had each won a regional heat, including 2 engineers from the IGEM Far East Section, but his presentation impressed the judges so much that – ANDREW WON IT!

Andrew’s prize is an all-expenses paid trip to a conference in Istanbul, Turkey. Congratulations Andrew!

We have no doubt that Andrew’s success will motivate more of our young engineers in YPPE to enter next year’s competition. It is a great opportunity for you to polish your presentation skills.
